Swan Boats of Boston

The Swan Boats have been a quintessential part of the Boston Public Garden since 1877. •

Robert Paget invented the paddle-boats, still powered by foot-pedals to this day. The original swans were made of copper. The boats only had two wooden benches for passengers. Today, the 6 swans are made of wood with 6 benches on each boat.•

The fourth generation of the Paget family continues to operate the business that has become a landmark in the Public Garden from April to September.
